The Kamptozoan can be divided in four families. Both Loxosomatidae and Loxokalypodidae are solitary and usually have a commensal habit The difference between then is the presence of tall anal cone in Loxosomatidae. Both Pedicellinidae and Barentsiidae are colonial, but the difference segmented stalks of Barentsiidae.
It is this last characteristic that made the species found on the lab to be classified as Pedicellinidae, due to colonial habit and to compost by numerous unsegmented stalks arising horizontally from one stolon.
